7th grade students will make paper cranes today as a part of a fundraising project to help victims of the earthquake and tsunami in Japan.
Using the following diagram and other resources from the students rebuild website, students will attempt to make as many cranes as possible. The goal of the organization is to reach 100,000 cranes by April 15. Legend has it that 100,000 cranes will grant a wish...
My wish is that on the one month anniversary of that narual disaster, students from all over use their art making skills to help benefit a community who is still reeling.
If you would like to participate, send your cranes to the school by Thursday and I will ship them to the Seatle site, or feel free to send yours seperately:
