7th grade students are finishing up their comics this week as well as adding glaze to their clay creatures before their final firing. Students looked at the work of teen artist Emma T. Capps for their comics before coming up with their own ideas on how to tell a story with pictures and words. From man eating cupcakes, to stories of space aliens, it has been fun to read all of the creative comics from these students.
8th grade students are using the supplies from our latest funded DonorsChoose project to create their Takashi Murakami inspired creatures. You can see the lesson on the ClipCards of the December 2012 SchoolArts Magazine, where Leigha VanderKlok's monster is on display. It is a fun project and we should get started sewing soon!
