7th grade students are working with color and symmetry in this project.
Students also get to choose which materials they will use to express their understanding of the various color concepts.
Paint seems to be the most popular, but students are also trying oil pastels, crayons, colored pencils, and markers to show what they know.
Students are working on their mandala's today.
We started with the discussion of organic and geometric shapes, then created designs to be transfered over the lines of symmetry and finally, we are adding color.
Each pie in the design will represent a differnt color concept: warm, cool, primary, secondary, gray scale, tint, and shade.
