Students finished glazing their clay pieces last Wednesday and I was able to get the 7th grade works fired this weekend.
I am really excited to see the reactions of students to their completely transformed pieces. When a clay piece is glaze-fired it looks COMPLETELY different than what you can sometimes expect.
For some students, they will be pleasantly suprised, others will get exactly what they thought, and some may be a bit shocked at the changes their sculpture underwent as a result. To see the entire project, check out our class gallery.

Tommy's Koala was finished with a blue stone grey and black glaze to show off this textured creature!

Tena's pig was glazed with a crystaline glaze called 'Snap-dragon' which gives a pop of red and greed on a white background.
